7. Account Manager

TextMaestro displays two trees on a dockable window, accessed by two corresponding tabs - (1) Projects, and (2) Accounts. Below is a sample:

Projects tree

Accounts tree

Accounts tree allows you to define a Cluster, which may contain a set of Accounts. For example, above TextMaestro Dev is a Cluster, in which host121~guru_Dev is an Account along with others. Note that each account consists of three attributes:

  • Host name (Example: host121.zko.ms.com)

  • User name (Example: guru_Dev)

  • Password (Not shown here. TextMaestro offers OCL (one click login for FTP and Telnet. Therefore it stores the password in a dynamic encrypted format.)

Right click on My Network, and this pop-up menu will appear.

Right click on a Cluster icon and this pop-up menu will appear.

Right click on an Account icon, and this pop-up menu will appear.

  • Browse... automatically establishes an FTP session and allows you to navigate the remote host.

  • Telnet... automatically connects you to the remote host (if you have TeraTerm installed. See details.).

  • Properties... opens the following dialog.

Quick Drop allows you to drop currently selected files into the specified location of the currently selected host. Doing so does not alter the File Attributes of the selected files. I.e., files may be mapped to some.other.host, but you can FTP them to host121.ipowerweb.com (as shown above), and they will still remain mapped to some.other.host.

Quick Drop page also lists the remote locations accessed thus far. They are labelled as Name and Bookmark above.
